This past summer Jake Mathews was invited to sing at one of W. Brett Wilson’s great charity events called Breakfast on the Bridge which raises funds for the CMFRC – Calgary Military Family Resource Centre . Jake performed a song written with his friend Jeffrey Joseph East titled “They Said He Wasn’t Hurt” that deals with PTSD.
Jake was honoured to have the opportunity to sing this song in front of so many military service men and women. After the performance, several of them approached Jake to tell him how much they appreciated the song and how real it was to them.
A big thanks to Brett Wilson and Emily Corner for making this video possible. The CMFRC for supplying us with some of the photos. Lana Collier, Candace Lacina, Michela Sheedy and all the volunteers that came out to help set up the shoot. Also thanks to OCL Studios for donating studio time for the song as well as Josh Rob Gwilliam (engineering), John Greenham (mastering) and the talented musicians Russell Broom (producing/mixing/guitars/bass), Denis Dufresne (strings) and Chris Andrew (piano).
Thanks for listening and please share.
